How do I go about changing my schedule availability when I just got hired? Should I not to do that?

here's the deal I got offered a job and I am going to be starting soon. I have this testing I was invited to attend for another job and if I pass it I will probably get the job. I want to keep both jobs. How do I go about changing my schedule availability? How do I tell them? Do you think a fast food chain would go for me working only 2 shifts? How do I go about changing my schedule availability when I just got hired? Should I not to do that?I think it's risky asking a job that just hired you to change your schedule unless you told them in the interview that your availability may change. If I were you, if you land the other job and if that job pays better, I wouldn't worry about the fast food job. If you want to try to keep it, there's no harm in asking but I wouldn't expect the response to be positive. Good luck to you.

First, I would go in for the training session and see what the shift is that they have open. Most new hires at fast food places work early afternoon's from 11am - 4:30, so wait and see. Being available for only two shifts is a good amount of time. As long as if can be one of the three. I am talking about opening and breakfast, lunch, or dinner with closing. It would have helped me if you would have said what shift you couldn't cover. If it is breakfast you probably won't have much trouble. The other two could be difficult. If after training you find it does create a problem for you, you will have to decide which job is more important. Hope it helps.

There is a job that you will be %26quot;starting soon%26quot; and you want to change your work availability?

1. You have not worked even 1 day at the first job.

2. You have not taken the test for the other job and may not pass.

You state that if you pass the test you will %26quot;probably%26quot; get the job - NO guarantee of a job even if you do pass the test.

On the job application (1st job) it most likely included a question that you answered about your availability to work different shifts/hours and that information was a factor in the decision to hire you.

If you were the Manager and someone wanted to limit their work availability before they had even worked 1 day what would you tell him or her?

There are plenty of other people available who are willing to work as needed.
