I have no issue it's just I wonder. I have a chance to get mine done but I'm scared that the press on's will scratch my baby whn I do simple things like picking up and changing and dressing. How do you do it?
Also what's this acytone remover that disolves the nail?Question for mom's that get there nails done.?I've had acrylic nails for the past 3 years. They're not press ons, it's a powder that turns to gel. They're study and the ends are pretty dull so it's hard to scratch. Acetone is like an upgraded nail polish remover (the upgrade being that it dissolves fake nails) -- it's nothing dangerous or anything. Just make sure you wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water a couple times before you put your hands in yours or your baby's mouth. The stuff tastes absolutely horrendous.
However, i just soaked my nails off completely as the upkeep is outrageous and the cost adds up. A decent nail salon will charge anywhere fro $30-$40 for a full set and $15-$20 dollars for a fill. Most women have to go in for a fill every two weeks because of their nails growing out so quickly, and then have to go in once a month for a new set so they don't get too long and fragile and start to break. If you can stand to have your nails grown out for a month with a gap at the bottom of your nail showing your real nail, you can get by without the fill every two weeks -- that's what i did.
Not to mention, your real nails being covered up for so long can ruin them. Nails need the sun to stay healthy...when they're covered up by fake nails, they become weak. When you soak off your nails for good, they'll hurt for a week or two and break and tear very easily. Like i said, i just soaked my nails off and i've already had two of my really nails tear half way down my nail bed. It's hurts incredibly.
But ultimately, for me...it was just too time and money consuming. It's easier, and cheaper, to go pamper myself once a month and get a regular manicure and pedicure. My bill at the nail salon when i had my fake nails was around $70 a month, with tip. Now, it's down to $45-$50, with tip. It's just all around better.
Just really think about it before you get it done.Question for mom's that get there nails done.?They're not practical..I jabbed my baby a couple of times and then got rid of them...they are also a choking hazard....they come off...you dont find it...baby does....not good.Question for mom's that get there nails done.?You'd have to call a nail shop for the remover. The nails are now shorter so you can do a lot more and not scratch your baby.I have never had my nails done, but even with %26quot;normal%26quot; nails, I was terrified of scratching my daughter and kept them painfully short for her first six months. I'd rather my vanity not cause harm.
