Do you have any tips on changing my middle name?

I am very interested in changing my middle name. I want to change it before I am out of high school in 2011. Mom has the same middle name and it works for her but it is not me. Could I get two middle names? I have two picked out. One is in a different language to reflect part of my background. I hope you all have a great Christmas! God bless you all.Do you have any tips on changing my middle name?Something else to think about...if you think you would get married one day...do you plan to take your husbands last name? If so, most women drop their middle name - use their maiden name as the middle name and take the husbands last name. So, if you think you would do that when you get married....it may not be worth the expense of changing your name.

If you are a minor...you would have to have your parents handle it.

Once you are an adult you can do it on your own. But your parents gave you that name for a reason. Probably because it is your mothers middle name as well. Would it hurt her feelings for you to change it?

If it's not meant to defraud or evade, you can use whatever name you want without having to change it legally.

Since it sounds like you are underage, your mother may have to file papers with the court house in order to change your name. The whole process can take anywhere from 2 months to a year.
You can have as many as you want. But what is wrong with Kenna. I like it. Merry Christmas to you as well.
You can petition the court for a name change, and you will almost always get it. The exceptions are if you are doing it to evade debt, commit fraud, avoid law enforcement, etc. If you are under 18 your parents must do it for you. I suggest if you are going to do it, do it before you are 18. That way all of your credit history, college transcripts, etc will be under your new name, saving you a lot of time and trouble. I would think hard about changing the name your parents gave you. For most parents, a name is more than a label. It might be very hurtful to them, especially your mother.
