What is your poinion between ricers and domestics?

I myself am going to get a 1996 to 2000 Honda Civic SI. Why you might ask? A couple of reasons one I can do alot of custom stuff to it and still get good gas mileage and another is you can change the appearance of your car. I plan on getting my body kit for christmas and changing out my intake manifold adding cold air intake getting headers and the works to make it go really fast. I've heard different sides from both sides.I've heard people say domestics can trash ricers and that ricers that trashed domestics. Me personally I think that a ricer could beat a domestic due to the fact that they make more parts for ricers and they weigh alot less. So please write down your opinion. What is your poinion between ricers and domestics?I'd say... Don't waste your money putting a body kit on a 10 year old tin-can economy car.

There do seem to be alot of bolt-on kits available for the Hondas. A plus if you're into adding mods. You can find a cold-air intake and performance exhaust for just about any car. Only good for about 15 HP. It seems eaiser to go past that level with a Honda than it is with some other domestics / ricers. Larger throttle bodies, supercharger and turbocharger kits, high-performance fuel pumps and injectors available.

Although... A GM Ecotech engine can be built into full-blown racing engine using GM parts. Try that with a Honda...

I will admit the ricers do usually handle better. Especially considering you're looking at older cars.
What is your poinion between ricers and domestics?
poinion? I hope you mean opinion brother.
What is your poinion between ricers and domestics?
I personally prefer ricers 1. they get better gas mileage 2.cheap insurance 3.Cheap to repair 4.better handling 5.more ways to customize
if you dont drive american go live where your **** was built ---be american or get the hell out -more want to be here than wants out
i'd def. go w/ domestic...and i wouldn't say they make more parts for ricers...there are soooooo many companies out there specializing in chevy SB and BB parts...i think if you put the same money into a nice american car w/ a 350 or something, it will beat a ricer every time. people w/ ricers keep getting turbos and cold air intakes and they celebrate when they beat a v8 powered grandma car or something...race a car that's made to go fast and you will see.
ricers: looks good, low eco, enough speed, low maintance fee...no wonder gm is running out of bussiness and custom list for toyotas and hondas go on and on
U never get the punch of a big block Detroit V8? What Ricer U ever see had a stock speedometer that went to 135 mph? I had a '64 Olds that went that fast 6 yrs old stock. How many $$$ U gonna put into that glorified motorcycle to catch up? 394 Olds made 375hp in 1964 stock. Positrack rear end. Blow yer rice grinder away. Honda is a Motorcycle. I had a '72 brit bike that would blow yer doors off. 160 mph top end........Hp is not the only answer............Can U put the power to the street? Not in a car that weighs 1,800 lb. Not with front wheel drive. Your problem is traction, U can't swing big enuf tires to put the pwr down. If U try U can't steer while the tires are spinning. Forget the Honda............Build a real car for the same price. I might suggest a Ford Torino, or a Gm SS 396. Maybe a Dodge hemi Duster or roadrunner. U can't beat a US muscle car from the 60's and 70's. Don't tell yerself %26quot;I coulda had a V8%26quot; Go nitro all that happy ****...........U still don't have the traction. Your 4 cyl is still half an engine. Wize up! Get a clue! U want a fast way to kill yerself? Just soup up a honda...........what kinda flowers U want on yer grave?
Ricer flat out..... Look better, drive better, and save gas. All good things these days
Depends on what people mean by the term %26quot;ricer%26quot;. Theres good rice and bad rice, good rice is on nicely with no such exageration, something simple that still looks amazing. Bad rice is making your car look like a NASA spaceship ready to fly with loud fartcans, huge spoilers, fake carbonfiber hoods, andgiant chrome rims. Unless you just want to look good theres plenty of parts to buy for a civic, performance, hell you can balance the two of them if you like....but please don't put no huge racing wing.

But no such thing as a ricer beating a domestic, unless they where awful domestic cars. The meaning of a ricer is all show but no go.

Thats my 2 cents...
Personally I think domestics are better as long as you get a V8 I would imagine that just like V8's I4's would lose gas mileage as you added high performance parts to it like a cam or 2 if its DOHC or nitrous. Also I think there is plenty of parts out there for domestics just not many people look for them over ricers.I'de say forget the civic idea and finance a fast car.
